Updated 3 WordPress Plugins

This week I updated three of my wordpress plugins.

The Automatic YouTube Video Posts Plugin was in need of a feature that had been repeatedly requested. Everyone wanted to be able to draw in videos from multiple YouTube channel feeds to create posts. Done! My plugin now allows you to do this. I’ve implemented it here on this site. Two musician friends of mine are featured; Yancarlos Sanchez and AJ Silverberg. Both are very talented musicians and good people. Check out their videos.

I am also in the process of writing a new WordPress plugin which led me to a restructuring of a couple small things in my Event Page and Members List plugins. The CSS stylesheets were not being included using WordPress’ built in function “wp_enqueue_style”. I was printing them to the page which I determined to be bad practice. It is easier for a website owner or developer who decides they do not want to use a plugin’s stylesheets or javascripts to disclude said files, without having to butcher or hack the plugin including them, when the files have been queued using WordPress’ functions. It takes more work, searching and hacking when the files are echoed or printed to the page. Don’t be like me fellow plugin writers. Please properly queue your scripts.
